Short Bio

Simone Bonavita is the Executive Director of the Information Society Law Center (ISLC) at the University of Milan, where he teaches on Master’s programmes in Data Protection & Data Governance, Computer Forensics, and Coding for Lawyers.

A practising lawyer at the Milan Bar and a member of the law firm Perani Pozzi Associati, his practice focuses on new technologies law, with a particular emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI), the NIS2 Directive, cybersecurity, and data governance.

Following his law degree in Milan, he earned an LLM and a PhD in New Technologies Law from the University of Bologna, subsequently serving as a Visiting Fellow at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. An author of numerous scientific publications and a regular speaker at specialist conferences, his work explores the legal challenges of personal data processing, ISP liability, and digital communication.
