ISLC
Information Society Law Centre
Established in 2017 within the “Cesare Beccaria” Department of Legal Sciences at the University of Milan, the ISLC is a multidisciplinary hub dedicated to the legal, technological, philosophical and social dimensions of our new digital era.
We focus on what we define as “Digital Transformation Law”, exploring how the information society reshapes our political and legal landscape.
The Centre is rooted in the enlightenment tradition of the Cesare Beccaria Department, a philosophy built on the belief that law is never an isolated subject. It is deeply connected to the socioeconomic institutions that it both influences and reflects. By fostering interdisciplinary research we aim to bridge the gap between traditional legal theory and the fast moving dynamics of the modern digital age.
Our Board:
- Executive Director: Simone Bonavita
- Director & Coordinator: Giovanni Ziccardi
- Vice Coordinator: Pierluigi Perri
Our mission is to investigate the evolving relationship between law and digital society. We are particularly focused on the profound changes, both current and emerging, that are set to redefine the way we live, work, and interact in the years to come.
